Strathalbyn Triathlon - April 8th

Our last Club Triathlon for the season will be held on Saturday 8 April, based from the Strathalbyn pool.  This location was used for the first time earlier in the season and feedback was very positive about the event.  This event is open to all.  It is not a member only event.  We look forward to meeting with you!

There will be 4 race distances on offer, a normal short and long course along with two shorter distances for the significant number of Primary School Children competing.

Distances:
Year 3-4:            50m swim, 2.5km bike, 500m run
Year 5, 6, 7:        100m swim, 5km bike, 1km run
Short Course:     300m swim, 8km bike, 2.5km run
Long Course:      500m swim, 16.6km bike, 5km run

Year 4 and under start:         9:00am
Year 5, 6, 7 start:                 9:15am
Short Course start:               9:50am
Long Course start:               10:00am

This is a great opportunity to race somewhere different.  People will be asked to register online prior to the event via the club website but to pay on the day.  Cost is $20.00 for all competitors.

There will be a requirement for assistance in setting up and packing up and marshals during the races. Please let us know if you are able to assist.

milangThis February 4 we are excited to host again a triathlon location at the Milang Foreshore.  This will be a family friendly event offering TWO children's races and our usual short and long course open events.

Race1: 9:00am Start.            Expected finish 9:30am

Race1:  This race will be for the yr 3-4  school age group and will consist of the following distances:

50m Swim/ 2.5km Bike/ 1000m Run .

The swim leg will be from the end of the Jetty to the foreshore.  At all times the child athletes will be able to touch the bottom however swim cover will be in the water during the swim. pdfMilang_Kids_Swim.pdf322.43 KB

Race2:  This Race will be for the Yr 5,6,7’s School age group and will consist of the following distances:

100m Swim/ 5km Bike/ 2km Run.

Race3:  This race will be an open race to all 12 year olds or above and will consist of the following distances:

300m swim/ 8km bike / 2.5km Run

The ride will be an out and back on public roads, as per attached map pdfMilang_Short_Course_Bike.pdf496.47 KB.  The turnaround point will be at the 4km mark.  All corners will be marshalled.

Race4:  This Race will be an open Race for 15 years and above and will consist of the following distances:

600m Swim/ 16 km Bike/ 5km Run

This Saturday is our Christmas Race at the Woodside Pool.  It’s a fun event run as a relay format, with teams of 2, decided by our Race Director on the day.  The course used is the short course (200m swim, 5km bike, 2km run)
Set-up and Registration from 3:00pm
Race Start 4:00pm
Cost – Free

After the race there will be a BBQ in the playground near the oval.
Meat, bread, tea & coffee will be provided by the club.
Please bring either a salad or dessert to share & BYO drinks.
